I was a senior marketing executive in the FMCG industry, while Soo Guan was studying business administration before joining an insurance company. I was doing well in my career, but I had always dreamt of being my own boss.

I was determined to start my own business, but that goal felt distant as I had no capital. That’s when Amway found me. Initially, I only signed up to support a friend. I didn’t see myself selling household products. I was out socialising almost every night and didn’t feel I had the time.

When I started to recognise its potential, I decided to commit for six months and learn all I could. Seven months in, I achieved Silver Producer. After 13 months, I qualified as Platinum at just 24 years old. That’s when I decided to go fulltime. That same year, we qualified for our first Amway incentive trip.

In the beginning, Soo Guan often felt neglected. However, upon seeing my dedication, she began attending meetings. Eventually, our weekends shifted from dates to home parties, customer visits, and business gatherings.

Our team then consisted mostly of students and young adults, many of whom faced resistance from their families. We made it a point to meet their parents and point out the positive environment their children were exposed to. We also organised gatherings and events to support the team’s growth.

Today, our focus is on health and beauty. Soo Guan even pursued a professional certification in makeup and skincare, and now leads our ARTISTRY team.

Beyond financial freedom, we now enjoy more quality time with our parents and are raising our children with intention. Amway has invited us to over 25 cities around the world, places we once only dreamed of. Our parents, siblings, and even extended relatives are now part of the business. It’s true what they say: when one person does Amway, the whole family follows.
