Executive Diamond

My husband worked as a deliveryman for 20 years, while I was merely a housewife who also juggled various odd jobs to stretch our earnings. Every day was about survival, and dreaming big felt like a luxury we couldn’t afford.
Believe it or not, I rejected Amway three times. I thought the products were too expensive and couldn’t imagine myself selling anything, yet deep down, I knew I needed to try something different.
Everything changed on 6 July 2008. A school friend invited me to a meeting, and I saw the Amway Sales & Marketing Plan. I saw hope and a future I could build for myself, my children and generations after them.
The early days were far from easy. My husband wasn’t supportive at first, family and neighbours doubted me, and I often doubted myself. But I held on to my mentors’ belief in me, that one day I would become a Diamond.
We kept to the basics, using the products, sharing our stories and coaching our team. Each small success built our confidence further. The breakthrough came when our team members began achieving results. That’s when we embraced the principle that still guides us today: Before we succeed, we must first help others succeed.
One encounter that still moves me is that of a factory worker who earned less than RM1,000 a month. He followed the system faithfully, never giving up. In his third year, he qualified for an incentive trip to Paris, France, something he had never dreamed possible. That’s when I realised this business is not about where you start, but how much heart you put into it.
Through Amway, we’ve improved our lifestyle with a new car, a renovated home, and family vacations. We have also grown as individuals, becoming more confident, disciplined, and empathetic. My greatest reward is more time with my children and the example that I’m able to set for them – that hard work, patience, and persistence can change your life.
Today, some of my family members are ABOs. My husband, who once doubted me, now stands beside me. We dare to dream bigger now, not just for our personal success, but that of building a strong and healthy team that impacts lives far beyond our own.
To anyone just starting out, don’t compare your journey to others. True success isn’t about speed, it’s about our staying power. We began with nothing but hope, over time, with consistent action, that hope has since blossomed into a rich and fulfilling life.
