I grew up in a poor family in Taiping and only completed primary school. I worked many jobs before moving to Brunei in 1984. There, I started a plastering and interior design company, handling projects for hotels, mosques and even royal households.
My wife is from Bahau, Negeri Sembilan. She moved to Brunei in 1986, and that’s where we met. Later, I started my own company, and she became my secretary. Together, we worked hand in hand to build our business.
Back then, although I achieved success in my career, I missed out on many precious moments with my wife and three children, and my health began to suffer. Besides money, I wanted health, freedom and time together with my family.
In 2001, my wife signed up as an ABO to purchase products. A year later, I attended a business meeting. On stage, a successful ABO described how traditional businesses often trade health and family time for income. In that moment, I felt as if I was hearing my own story—I knew then that this was the path I was meant to follow.
We started learning about the business seriously in September 2002. By 2003, we qualified for our first Amway Leadership Seminar in South Africa. One trip turned into many, and each has been a recognition of our hard work.
Still the journey tested us. Confusion and doubt appeared more than once. Faith kept us going. I vowed that once I achieved Emerald, I would close my 25-year-old traditional business and commit fully. I achieved it in 2010 and kept my promise in 2011. It was the best decision I ever made.
After the pandemic, I set a new goal to qualify Diamond by the age of 60. This achievement is not only the pinnacle of my career, but also the most precious gift I could give myself.
I have also introduced my children to Amway. With dedication and perseverance, I believe that they too can achieve their dreams. As the saying goes, “One person with Amway, the whole family with Amway!”
As long as there is a dream in your heart and a path beneath your feet, no destination is unreachable. I will keep moving forward, helping more partners step onto the stage of glory and achieve their dreams.
If you are on this journey, remember this: success is not about speed but persistence. Learn together, share daily, and keep your ‘why’ within sight. One person can walk fast alone, but only a team can go far.
