I started my first business at 15, selling contact lenses, apparel, and accessories online. I’ve always wanted to build a business of my own. Along the way, I was exposed to different direct selling businesses.
Having been misled before, these experiences made me cautious about the brand I was willing to commit to. More than anything, I was tired of the instability; I did not want to restart my life from zero every few years. I wanted to build a business that keeps growing, a brand that had long-term value and real credibility.
I was involved in another direct selling business then. One day, I approached a stranger, who later introduced me to his Amway uplines. My first reaction was scepticism. However, after observing their lifestyle and the way they managed their work and personal growth, I became curious.
They were focused on learning, self-development, growth, and becoming better versions of themselves. Over time, I started appreciating the quality of the products and the business fundamentals. The doubts I had started fading because the consistency of the mentorship and business principles gave me the confidence that this was something real.
I built my Amway business around beauty because it was something I genuinely loved. I enrolled in beauty courses and integrated my beauty knowledge with ARTISTRY products. People who were interested in skincare, self-image and confidence building started their own journey too.
When we expanded into health & wellness, the business became even more meaningful. Customers, who first came to us for beauty consultations or skincare concerns, became interested in wellness and nutrition after experiencing changes in their energy and lifestyle. Watching these people transform physically, emotionally and mentally, became one of the most rewarding parts of this business.
When I achieved my Diamond pin, I felt a sense of confirmation as I had made a promise to myself, my mentors, and my team that I would give this journey my very best. The pin became proof that the promise had been kept.
Today, my brother has achieved the Platinum pin, my mother’s team has developed two Platinums, and the people around me have not only grown financially, but also personally.
Amway isn’t only about pins or results. It has always been equally about who you become. The discipline, leadership, relationships, and lessons through the difficult seasons create real long-term value.
My past experiences made me more careful, but also more grateful. Because when you finally find a business that is genuinely worth your effort, you stay.
