I was a school teacher. The job supposedly commanded respect and was looked highly upon. Ironically, my monthly salary of less than RM1,000 didn’t quite measure up to the perceived stature of the job.

Gordon, on the other hand, was a grocery shop owner. Day in day out, his main concern was keeping the shop open. He knew that at least then there was a chance to get some business with the much needed income.

We had never been lucky enough to win the lottery or to come across a sudden windfall. But we were fortunate enough to be shown the AMWAY™ Business Opportunity, to learn and understand it in detail, and to choose it as our path. Most importantly, we had never given up our dream.

Since then, I had chosen to pay the monetary compensation rather than continue with my teaching job while Gordon had decided to stop being a shop owner and a so-called boss who ended up having to do all the menial and tedious day-to-day tasks by himself.

We were able to make these decisions because we understood that we no longer needed to depend on a “job” to make a living, for we have found an opportunity that would help us realise our dreams.

There were moments of frustration, weariness and disappointment. But every time I got back on my feet after taking a tumble, I realised that I wasn’t standing alone. My uplines, downlines and fellow AMWAY Business Owners (ABOs) were there by my side.

We could settle for any job that generates income, but only AMWAY gives us the opportunity to generate passive income. It may or may not be an “ideal” opportunity, but AMWAY is the opportunity that has allowed us to realise our dreams.

AMWAY not only changed our lifestyle, but also our mindset. We have gained knowledge in various disciplines, and the most significant of all is that we are now aware that accumulating wealth is not the be-all and end-all of life.
